DEMSTAR - Democracy, the State, and Administrative Reforms


Welcome to the DEMSTAR research program.

DEMSTAR is a five year (2000-2005) research program based at the Department of Political Science at the University of Aarhus, Denmark. The focus is on the role of the state and state administrations in countries undergoing rapid institutional change.

We are deeply sorry to inform you that Project Manager, Professor  Ole Nørgaard recently passed away. It is a great loss to the project and to us personally. The Department's formal obituary can be found here.
