Attila Ágh

Conducting research on ECOFIN structures in Central- and Eastern Europe. 

Professor Ágh was born in Budapest in 1941. He became Full Professor in 1978. He has held several posts as Visiting Professor and spent extended periods in Moscow, Dar es Salam, New Delhi, Los Angeles (State University of California at Long Beach) and Vienna. In the 1980s he was Director of the Hungarian Institute for International Relations.
He has headed the Political Science Department at the Budapest University of Economics since 1990, and he is Director of the Hungarian Centre for Democracy Studies.

Professor Ágh’s major research interest is comparative politics and ‘linkage politics’, and he has summarized the results of his comparative research in two recent books, The Politics of Central Europe (Sage, 1998), and Emerging Democracies in East Central Europe and the Balkans (Edward Elgar, 1998).
